Rose hip oil is obtained by pressing the seeds contained in the berries of Rosa affinis rubiginosa, a wild shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family, native to the Andean regions of Chile; chemically it consists of:

unsaturated fatty acids, linoleic acid (approx. 45%), alpha-linolenic acid (approx. 35%) and oleic acid (approx. 15%), substances essential for the synthesis of prostaglandins and therefore responsible for the regenerative activity of cell membranes and endowed with nourishing, elasticising and anti-inflammatory properties; trans-retinoic acid, an isomer of Vitamin A with regenerating action on epidermal cells thanks to stimulation of cell turnover; polyphenols with anti-radical activity, thus able to limit oxidative damage that causes thinning and dehydration of the skin with consequent appearance of expression lines.

Rose hip oil is very light and absorbs quickly; it is used in the formulation of active cosmetics against premature ageing of the skin tissues, in the treatment of imperfections caused by scars and stretch marks, damage caused by exposure to the sun (sunburn, sun erythema), in the treatment of dry and dehydrated skin and even skin damaged by acne: its application makes the skin fresher, smoother and more elastic, eliminating signs of fatigue and providing good hydration.

It can be used on its own or mixed with other oils, as a vehicle for essential oils or as a component of the oily phase in cosmetic preparations.

Applied to the skin it is a safe ingredient at any concentration of use.

For external use. Keep in tightly closed original container. Store in a cool, dry place away from light and heat sources.
