Organoleptic properties

appearance: clear liquid

colour: light yellow

odour: slight, characteristic

The Macadamia ternifolia nut produces a light yellow oil with a neutral odour, made up of unsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic acid (about 60%) and palmitoleic acid (about 20%) and, to a lesser extent, linoleic, palmitic and stearic acids.

It is considered a special oil because it is the only one that contains palmitoleic acid, an essential monounsaturated fatty acid found in sebum.

Macadamia oil is known for its restructuring, nourishing, moisturising and softening properties and is characterised by its excellent smoothness, non-greasy touch and rapid absorption.

It has high oxidative stabilisation properties which make it suitable as a basic element for making sun creams.

Particularly suitable for the treatment of dull, dry and sensitive skin, it is used in the formulation of emulsions and oleolites with an emollient-restoring action.

Thanks to its sebum-affinity properties, macadamia oil is also used in products for the care and treatment of the hair and scalp because, by helping to rebalance the lipid secretion of the hair fibre, restoring the correct level of moisture and combating dehydration, it makes the hair shiny, soft and silky.

It can be used as a massage oil, alone or mixed with other oils, as a vehicle for essential oils or as a component of the fatty phase in cosmetic preparations.

Applied to the skin it is a safe ingredient at any concentration of use.

For external use. Keep in tightly closed original container. Store in a cool, dry place away from light and heat sources.
