Glycolica intensive treatment system

What is glycolic acid and what is it for?

Glycolic acid is widely used in cosmetics by virtue of its very high exfoliating power, thanks to the small size of its molecules it easily penetrates the epidermis and breaks the bonds between the corneal cells, i.e. those that form the outermost layer of the epidermis ;in this way, the glycolic acid allows the elimination of the most superficial layers, responsible for an irregular and dull appearance of the skin. Glycolic acid is an acid, of natural origin, which belongs to the family of fruit acids and the first objective of using this particular product is cell renewal, exfoliating and making the skin much brighter and more compact. Glycolic acid acts on the superficial layer of the skin by removing impurities and dead cells, for this reason it is particularly suitable for mature skins with spots but also for acne-prone and oily ones, carrying out a rebalancing action in the production of sebum and successfully treating signs of aging and imperfections. Furthermore, it is ideal for all skin types and at all ages, but it is not recommended for sensitive, delicate and reactive epidermis.

How does it work?

Once applied to the skin, glycolic acid works by weakening the lipid bonds between the cells of the epidermis: this action facilitates their removal, dead cells detach and the skin will be renewed and clearer.
The treatment, therefore, can be of help for various blemishes, to reduce:

• active acne

• fine wrinkles

• skin spots

• Thickened skin

• Scars and stretch marks

After a glycolic acid-based treatment, you may feel that the skin is much drier and that it "tightens" a bit, don't worry, it's a fleeting sensation, in the days following application it is sufficient to pay more attention to the care of the skin, it will in fact be much more receptive and will absorb the active ingredients of creams and masks much better. Furthermore, glycolic acid is a highly photosensitizing acid, the skin after application is extremely sensitive to sunlight, therefore it is very important to use very rich moisturizing creams, with a soothing action and equipped with a high protection factor from the sun's rays solar.

How is glycolic acid applied?

The exfoliating effectiveness of glycolic acid depends on its concentration: the higher it is, the deeper it goes. If you are using glycolic acid for the first time, it will be best to start with small doses, as you would with any new skincare product, unlike professional products, they should also not be rinsed off but left on overnight. Why the night? Because this is the most appropriate moment in which to make an active exfoliator work: away from the hours of light, the skin runs less risk of irritation, as well as being more receptive. Glycolic acid creams should be applied to washed and dried skin, using the fingertips and tapping, then it is advisable to massage gently to make it absorbed. In the morning, after applying the night cream, it is advisable to moisturize the face well and the neck and to apply a sunscreen to face the day.

Glycolic acid products: which ones to choose?

ANTI STAIN TREATMENT

If your skin has a predisposition to acne and you have spots or scars left on your face, glycolic acid by removing the damaged surface layer of the epidermis and stimulating the production of new cells to replace those eliminated can activate the healing process of the skin by renewing the cells, favoring the filling and thinning of superficial wrinkles.
The anti-stain treatment involves the use of:

• ACID PRE-TREATMENT: apply 5 minutes before applying the 12% face cream, dabbing the product on the areas to be treated

• FACE CREAM 12%: apply on spots morning and evening with a light massage

• FACE MASK 24%: apply twice a week and leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off

• HYPER MOISTURIZING FACE CREAM: apply 3 times a week and leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off

ANTI AGE TREATMENT

With age, cell renewal slows down and dead cells accumulate on the surface of the skin making it dull: thus creating a barrier that can make the exfoliation process more difficult and prevent anti-aging treatments from working optimally. This makes the skin dry, rough and accentuates the presence of dark spots and wrinkles, thanks to its action, it is possible to obtain a reduction of fine wrinkles and an improvement in the complexion, as well as refine the skin texture.

The treatment involves the use of:

ACID PRE-TREATMENT: apply 5 minutes before applying 3% face cream

FACE CREAM 3%: apply morning and evening until completely absorbed

FACE MASK 24%: twice a week apply and keep on for 15 minutes and rinse off

HYPER MOISTURIZING FACE CREAM: apply after the 3% cream to moisturize and shield the skin from UV rays

ANTI STRETCH MARKS TREATMENT

Glycolic acid has proved to be an excellent ally for eliminating stretch marks, i.e. real scars deriving from alterations of the dermis, the deepest layer of the skin, in which a fracture of the collagen fibers occurs which generates on the epidermis, the upper layer, more or less thin depressions called scar lines which initially appear reddish, over time they become white and shiny.
What are the reasons that lead to the formation of stretch marks:
- Weight fluctuations

- Pregnancy

- Fast increase in muscle mass

- Loss of skin elasticity

- Predisposition

With glycolic acid, stretch marks can gradually become less visible, it acts on the fibroblasts by stimulating their activity, thus restoring softness and elasticity by thinning the healing component at the epidermal level.

The treatment involves the use of:

ACID PRE-TREATMENT: Apply 5 minutes before body cream 16%

BODY CREAM 16%: Apply once, massaging until completely absorbed

ANTI STRETCH MARKS CREAM 90-60-90: Apply a small amount after the 16% body cream, massaging until completely absorbed.

The importance of prevention

Prevention is better than cure! Stretch marks usually appear when you are on a diet, pregnant or growing up. We know that the most affected parts are the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, breasts and hips. So, the best advice is to moisturize your skin during these stages of your life.
